Past Performances by Moving Mountains NYC

Splitting his time between New York City and his birthplace on the Caribbean island of Anguilla, Thomas Edison Kelly is actively involved in charitable organizations engaging youth in both communities. Thomas Edison Kelly is a noted contributor to the New York nonprofit Moving Mountains, which gives inner-city children the opportunity to produce and act in on-stage productions.

Moving Mountains supports the work of young artists, actors, musicians, and singers by providing the resources, theater space, and publicity necessary to successfully run plays and short films. Participants develop their skills in vocal, drama, dance, and production classes led by working professionals. In 2018, the young participants put together six showings of five different performances.

The play Maya’s Possibilities, an adapted version of Cinderella, ran for two shows in late May. The performers also put together In Search of the Wiz, a modern take on the classic known as The Wiz. The youth also took on Broadway favorites Fame and West Side Story.
